Change or correct commitments and gifts
The difference between a change going forward and a correction.

Which one to use
| Action | Use it when | What is kept |

| Change going forward | The real amount changes from a date, such as $100 rising to $125. | The earlier amount stays in history for its dates. |
| Correct this entry | The record was typed wrongly. A reason is needed. | The previous values are kept. |
| Pause or end | Giving stops for now or for good. | All history. |
These actions are on each row in the Commitments table. History shows every earlier version.
Correct a gift
Open Correct this gift in the Received gifts table. The old values are kept and no second gift is created.
Giving-change review
When a commitment would usually have shown a gift by now, Nehemiah adds an item to your Inbox so you can look into it. It never changes a commitment. It stays quiet when no gift or statement has arrived in 45 days, because your giving records may just be out of date, and a newer gift resolves it automatically.
